What is The AM Edition?

The AM Edition is a free, twice-weekly newsletter sent to your email inbox. It covers the Cincinnati Reds, and will often contain a song or other music recommendation or short article on a topic I think is interesting.

Why should I sign-up?

The Reds haven’t been a great baseball team in a while. If you have fallen out of watching them play every day, you’re not alone. It’s what happens when baseball teams are in a continual rebuild. If you don’t watch the Reds every day but you’d like to stay updated with an email to your inbox, The AM Edition is for you. I’ll cover series recaps and run through big stories; streaks, prospects, in-game anomalies and everything in between. Also, its free :)

If you are instead a person who watches every day you know that this team is fun to watch, and you may want to hear other people (me) talking about it too. I will additionally talk about other teams and players around the MLB, so you can keep up with baseball as a whole.

How often will I receive The AM Edition?

I will send out newsletters before noon on Mondays and Fridays.

Why the Cincinnati Reds?

Simple. I love baseball, and the Reds have been my team since before I can remember. I’ll watch any baseball game and have a good time, and often root for teams other than the Reds to do well. But the Reds are in my spirit.

Why did you start a newsletter?

Mostly, I want to practice my writing. Maintaining this newsletter will give structure to that practice, and baseball is one of the few topics on which I have enough to say to fill a publication. Music is another one, and I’ll probably talk pretty often about songs or albums that I think are worth sharing.

What are your credentials on the topics?

Uh… None. I played baseball growing up and watch a lot of it, and have spent a lot of time listening to music. That’s all. Didn’t play ball past high school and never even learned one instrument. But I enjoy both things immensely and want to share them with others. You, in fact.
